Are you struggling to generate enough Content Ideas for this year?
Even if you only plan your Content Calendar (what articles and posts you are going to post and when), one month at a time, you can’t do it without interesting and relevant ideas!
If you are only posting one new blog a week – that’s ok! It is more likely to be found through search engines if you have optimized it and you are providing something different to what is already easily available on the web.
However, if you run out of ideas for new content here are 8 Interesting Blog Ideas which your audience will love to read.
FIRST DO THE PREPARATION
By now, you’ve probably done all the groundwork around SEO: keywords, links, pillar posts, etc. but just in case you haven’t DO IT NOW!
1. TITLES
However interesting your blog is, over 80% of people who read your title may not read the rest of your article or blog. (Brutal fact, but true!)
If you spend some thinking about what is the main point of your blog, and how you can communicate that effectively to your readers, you will reap the benefits with increased web traffic. You don’t want to spend hours and hours on a perfect article or blog post, only to have your mother read it.
There are many toolsthat can help you with this, many of which are free and take only seconds to use. All of them can help you, add one to your arsenal today.
2. CALL TO ACTION
What Should I Do?
Every interesting blog should ask your reader to take some kind of action. If you have this in mind at the beginning of each blog, this will help your writing to have some direction.
For you: Don’t forget to have a call to action at the end – which could be a link to your publications OR to joining a newsletter list.
Make it easy to see, and easy to activate with a direct link at the bottom of each blog post.DO IT NOW!
3. IMAGES
Where are the pictures?
The old cliché that a picture can convey more than a thousand words, is only a cliché as it is generally true. Adding unique images to each blog post is no longer difficult.
You don’t have to take all of your own photos (although this can be fun if you like snapping photos) or necessarily purchase images.
There are many free sites like PIXABAY, and you can customize and brand the image to fit your website design using Photoshop or simple design software such as Canva.
4. Canva, a free design tool
CANVA is fun and easy to use BUT unless you SOURCE original photos, you must PAY for each image individually and prices start from under £1.
This can get tiresome and costly (unless you are only doing one new blog a month, which is the MINIMUM you should be doing!) So, if you only need occasional images and just want access to FREE TEMPLATES for your website, social media posts and presentations get the FREE CANVA option.
(I find this easier, but start with the free option to see if you like using it as there are other similar tools out there, for the same Free/Monthly deal).
TOP TIP: Don’t forget to add your image tags, as it is an easy way to boost or Onsite SEO.
Even adding one or two images per post makes all the difference, and will reduce your bounce rate!
You can also get some great ideas for images from search engines like Pinterest – take a look at some of these boards for ideas.
FUN BLOG IDEAS FOR YOU & YOUR READERS
Remember to enjoy BOTH the planning of your CONTENT CALENDAR 2020 & writing it!
Content calendars are no good, if you create them, pack them full of article headlines you think you SHOULD write about, and then file the list and don’t look at it again. This may be because you are not really inspired to ACTUALLY write them, so ask yourself why is that?
Worthy content ideas don’t necessarily get written or read. Or you may be a genius and just not have enough time to write them all …. in which case get someone else to write them for you. (SPECIAL BLOG WRITING OFFER – 1 MONTH DEAL HERE)
Yes, life for most of us is busy, but you wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t know how essential it is to post consistently so maybe one of the reasons you don’t stick to your content calendar is:
a. You enjoy making the list more than writing OR
b. The list of topics actually isn’t that inspiring for you to write about
So, you have two choices here either
a. Change your list of topics OR
b. Hire someone else to write them!
If you enjoy writing your blog posts, there is a greater chance your readers will enjoy reading them!
(REMEMBER: If you don’t like writing or don’t have the time you can always record your thoughts and ask a VA or Content Manager to organize your thoughts into a great article (Yep, I can do this for you, as I love writing!)
